Music Streamer: 3rd Party Pandora Radio Player App Reviews

iTunes, XM NO WAY!!!

Itunes and XM are making it way to complicated and charging way to much!! its radio. we can listen to fm for free and its not complicated. Pandora gives you what you want and need. some control at a price point that is worth paying for. Thanks Pandora for not over thininkg it!

Excellent app, excellent support!

It’s really nice not having to browse to pandora.com, and try to figure out where on my 3 desktop screens the window is. There was a slight quirk with how it responded to shortcuts, and interfered with shortcuts I used on a regular basis. I contacted support, and received an update that fixed it all! Notifications are great, window size options are nice too. The program was well worth it, and great support is a huge plus! On to listening to more tunes..

Great App

This app works seamlessly on my MacBook Air and eliminates the need for Adobe Flash. Strongly recommend this app for all users especially Mac users.

fails to load

This app fails to load. Regularly. It has been totally unreliable.

can’t even sign on

waste of money, cant sign on. delete delete delete

Awesome

Does exactly what I wanted… lets me listen to Pandora in a native app.

Great station selection

This is my favorite music app. Between working out at the gym, hitting balls on the range, or messing around in the garage, I use it daily!

Love the new Thumbprint Station

I love, love, love Pandora. Sometimes, you want to turn music on that you like without having to search…that’s what the Thumbprint Station did for me. Keep up the good work Pandora!!

Not work it

I can’t do two things at once without this app skipping. Not worth the cost. I’ve had to switch to using my iphone app for Pandora. Don’t waste your money on this.

Works great

Works great. Only minor issues I have noticed are: 1. If you use the media control keys, the system will launch iTunes, which can be a resource hog. This isn’t specific to this app, but the best workaround I found mentioned on the internet is to launch QuickTime player instead as it does not require as much as iTunes. 2. The app never seems to remember the volume level I have set. I haven’t found a work aroud for this, but I rarely shutdown my laptop or this app, so it is only a minor annoyance. Definitely worth the money.

This developer is a rare breed.

I have been using this app for several months now and I really like it overall. Its way more convenient than keeping a tab open in a browser just for Pandora and I love that it has all the same functionality of the full website. I came across a very minor issue, where my custom keyboard shortcuts would only save temporarily (they wouldn’t survive my computer going to sleep or a restart). So, I decided to write the developer, Z, mostly just to make sure that I wasn’t doing something wrong. Not only did he write me back in less than 15 minutes, he had a fix for me in less than 8 hours! In the age of online anonymity and unaccountability, it’s so nice to deal with someone who really appreciates their customers and genuinely cares about improving their product and the customer experience. If you’re an avid Pandora listener, this app is well worth your money! I promise you’ll get more enjoyment out of it than your morning Starbucks.

just bought it… don’t if you like to use airplay

So I use airplay all over the house and used to use MUSE to boradcast over multiple airplay base stations.. not going to happen with this app it seems.

Does its job well

I love Pandora and appreciate the app. Here are the reasons I don’t give it a 5: 1. It keeps showing me tool tips even though I’ve used the app for a long while. I haven’t been able to find a way to turn that off and it’s annoying / unnecessary. 2. I want to be able to have a small display option e.g. mini player that I can place anywhere on the desktop. At least on the Mac, it’s either the large app UI or it locks up to the menu. No way to display a small / mini player that you can move around and place it wherever you want on the desktop. 3. You cannot change its default color from the ugly “office/business blue”. You can oly change the background image but the ugly blue lives on! haha

Great App. Amazing Customer Service!

Recently replaced my Radia app after two years as it started to act up. Downloaded Music Streamer and not only did i find the app seamless and easy-to-use, their customer service is second to none. i had an issue with the shortcut defaulting back to factory settings, and within hours (possibly even minutes), tech support was able to provide me with a new version and the problem has gone away. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED if youre looking for a desktop version of Pandora, that’s not only as intuitive as the old Pandora Desktop app, but also prettyier to look at. one little nit picky feature i would love to see is if there was any way the Pandora window would default to the mini bar window versus the app window. otherwise, no complaints here. /c (former Pandora Associate)

Not as Advertised

This app seems to be little more than Pandora’s website in an app shell. The media key integration doesn’t work. And while it doesn’t use Adobe Flash, it does use Pepper Flash. Pepper Flash can only run in Chrome or Chromium. A deeper look shows both Chromium and Pepper Flash: 501 9888 9886 0 6:42PM ?? 0:46.69 /Applications/Music Streamer for Pandora Radio.app/Contents/Frameworks/Music Streamer for Pandora Radio Helper.app/Contents/MacOS/Music Streamer for Pandora Radio Helper --type=renderer --no-sandbox --disable-databases --enable-deferred-image-decoding --lang=en-US --lang=en-US --ppapi-flash-path=/Applications/Music Streamer for Pandora Radio.app/Contents/Frameworks/Chromium Embedded Framework.framework/Libraries/PepperFlashPlayer.plugin --ppapi-flash-version=20.0.0.228 --enable-delegated-renderer --num-raster-threads=4 --gpu-rasterization-msaa-sample-count=8 --use-image-texture-target=3553 --channel=9886.1.1524938730

Great app - fantastic customer service!

Very pleased with this app. One less window to have open on my desktop which helps keep things nice and tidy and gives me easy access to my pandora stations. Had a small issue with the app after a few months, emailed customer service and received a response and solution litterally within 10 min. Thank you Zheng, great product and service!

Review

I am not using the premium version, and that said, the commercials are something that is understood. The audio commercials are not too intrusive. Some of the visual advertisements are a bit, shall we say, unexpected for this offering. As an example, “if your man is suffering from ED (and not Emergency Department at the hospital)…” I do wish that the play selection menu would expand. That is, what has been played will eventuallly rollover and be replayed, but not too frequently. I gave it a five because four point five is not an option, and I lean more towards the positive.

Love it!

Best Pandora app there is, Love that I don’t have to use the internet to play from pandora on my MAC!

Easy to Use! Just what you need!

Couldnt be easier to use! Does exactly what it says it will! It does open itunes when you hit the play/pause button the first time but it doesnt start playing iTunes. So we’re good!! Also, the developer is incredbibly responsive to querries and suggestions! Buy it! you will not be disappointed!

Really like this app - fits the bill perfectly

I was looking for an app to wean me off of the Pandora web UI - something that would allow me to minimize the footprint while still giving me access to ratings and playlists. This app from Z has really done the trick. Its got a nice tight UI packed with well integrated features - especially in the minimal mode. I really enjoy it and am very happy with my choice. Then ... Id been using it for a couple of weeks without problem and had to reboot my Powerbook. After the reboot the app just stopped working. I couldnt get it to boot without crashing ... just wouldnt work. Uninstalled and Re-installed multiple times ... rooted around for other persistent configs elsewhere than the Applications folder - cleaned those out - nothing worked. So I grabbed the crash-dump output and sent it along to the developer "Z". I was a little skeptical but Z came back a day later with a fix! Awesome! Im back in business. Still not sure what was wonky on my machine or what I did to tickle a soft spot but Im past the issue and am totally satisfied!
